Empowerment Strategies

  1. HCSM Email Digest

    Semi-monthly dissemination of information, events, & opportunities for involvement to all members. If you are not on the mailing list and would like to join, please send an email to hcsm@hcsmstudents.org with the subject: “Subscribe to Digest”

  2. Statewide Meetings

    Purpose: to connect, inform, update students on HCSM on-goings. To discuss & implement actions on current & important issues that pertain to the Hmong community and culture.

  3. Statewide Conference

    Purpose: to connect, engage students & the community in workshops that deal with Hmong issues to incite, raise awareness, & foster an environment for constructive brainstorming about issues as well as to provide participants with action ideas to utilize.

  4. Activism Program

    To act upon the action-ideas generated at the statewide meetings and conference through the execution of a hands-on civc engagement project that incorporates giving back to the community.

  5. Hmong Students Intercollegiate Coalition (HSIC)

    Collaborate with HSIC through HND workshops to promote student leadership and empowerment; and activism on issues pertinent to Hmong college students and the Hmong community.

  6. Quarterly Alumni Newsletter

    Engage leaders who have graduated and moved out of the “student” realm in order to retain their dedication to student empowerment and commitment to the Hmong community.
